Saõ Paulo Biennale awards “Artistic Research” prize to Yaacov Agam, a category created especially for his work when judges couldn’t decide if his work was painting or sculpture.
Art and theater critic Haim Gamzu who was director of the Tel Aviv Museum at the time, said the award for Agam launched his career to an international level.
The Saō Pailo Biennial in Brazil is the second oldest art Biennial in the world, after Venice.
